Looking for a compact music player with a nod to the old iPod Nano? Then the affordable FiiO Snowsky Disc might be just the thing.
FiiO regularly proves that Chinese manufacturers can deliver solid quality, and the new Snowsky Disc is another good example. This portable music player features a dual-DAC design under the hood and a distinctive circular display on the outside. It also supports WiFi, AirPlay and Bluetooth, including LDAC.
In addition, there’s a microSD card slot, with support for cards up to 2 TB—more than enough for a sizable music library on the go. The built-in battery delivers up to 12 hours of playback on a full charge. If desired, the player can also be controlled via a smartphone app.
When it comes to headphone connections, you can choose between the familiar 3.5 mm mini-jack and a 4.4 mm balanced connector. USB and S/PDIF outputs are also on board. Last but not least, the Snowsky Disc can double as a (portable or desktop) DAC.
The FiiO Snowsky Disc will be available in sea green, pink and black, with a price tag of around $80. Keep an eye on the manufacturer’s website for actual availability; at the time of writing, no further details have been published yet.
