The Sound
Contents
The first thing to notice is the spacious stereo image. These speakers project sound excellently in width and height. Depth depends largely on the amplifier and listening room.
Immediately after that, the high level of detail stands out, making the Cardea Super 10A very insightful in any recording. This speaker has no trouble with complex pieces of music either. Everything sounds open, loose and fast. The sweet spot is also wide so you don’t have to sit tightly in front of you to enjoy the music.
The bass is fast and punchy but does not go particularly deep. Quality over quantity so to speak. The Kudos Cardea Super 10A is therefore not a party speaker but a refined reproducer for the connoisseur with a refined amplifier. Who wants more bass will have to use a subwoofer or can opt for the floorstander.
The midrange is excellent on the Super 10A. You hear a lot, intelligibility is very high and in a balanced system vocals sound very natural and instruments have correct tonality. In our lively room the Cardea Super 10A, like its big brother, came across as a touch fresh at times.
