Spotify’s new Car Thing has gone on sale in the United States, whether and when it will be available elsewhere is still unknown.
Car Thing from Spotify is a mini-streamer for in-car use. You will need a Spotify Premium subscription for it. Also a mobile data source (or link to mobile internet on your smartphone) is necessary to play something. You control the device by voice, or you use the touch screen whether or not in combination with the prominent rotary knob. Car Thing costs $89.99 including mounting bracket. Let’s wait and see if and when the device will also be available outside the US.
