A new HEOS firmware update is now available for users of compatible devices, bringing several enhancements, including support for SMB 3.0.

HEOS firmware version 3.67.270 introduces a significantly extended playback queue: users can now queue up to 1,000 tracks, up from the previous 300. Additionally, the update brings support for SMB 3.0, modernizing the system to align with current network standards—especially as older SMB versions are being phased out by many NAS systems and operating systems. The startup time of HEOS has also been improved, allowing for quicker playback after powering on. As is typical with firmware updates, this version includes various bug fixes and overall improvements. The update is free for owners of compatible devices, making it highly recommended to install.

New Roon Ready Models

More good news for HEOS users: several new models have been certified as Roon Ready. This includes the Denon DNP-2000NE (shown in the screenshot), Denon Home wireless speakers, and the Denon Home Amp, AVC-S670H, AVC-X3800H, DRA-900H, and PMA-900HNE. Marantz is also joining in, with the following models now Roon Ready: SACD 30n, Model M1, Model M4, CD 50n, Model 60n, Model 40n, AV10, and Stereo 70S.
