The new WiiM Sound smart speaker works with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, allowing you to issue voice commands without having to search for that ever-missing remote control. On paper, the Sound looks like a highly capable music player, offering full support for major streaming services including Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Spotify Connect. It also supports Alexa Cast, DLNA, and Google Cast. The device is Roon Ready, pending final certification — but as is usually the case, that should be only a matter of time.
The maximum supported audio quality is an impressive 24-bit / 192 kHz. Under the hood, you’ll find a 4-inch long-throw woofer and a pair of 1-inch tweeters, all powered by an amplifier delivering up to 100 watts peak output.
The WiiM Sound is priced at £299 / $400.
