Qobuz Starts Labelling AI-Generated Music

French music streaming service Qobuz has also started labelling AI-generated tracks, which seems only fair.

Although Qobuz itself says that just 0.38% of the tracks it offers are AI-generated, there is no denying that AI music is gradually becoming more commonplace. Not everyone is particularly fond of that development, however, and some listeners would simply prefer to hear music created by actual human beings.

Meanwhile, the distinction between AI-generated music and music made the ‘traditional’ way is becoming increasingly difficult – if not virtually impossible – to hear. That is particularly true in the case of electronic music, for example. As a result, a growing number of music streaming services are labelling AI-generated music, and Qobuz is now doing the same.

So, from now on you can simply skip an AI-generated track if it gives you an allergic reaction. And for anyone who is curious to hear where all this is heading, the AI tracks are now easy to identify as well. Something for everyone, then.

Incidentally, the complete tagging and detection system had already been announced by the music streaming service earlier, but is now actually being rolled out, including a new and clearly recognisable label.
