The AudioQuest PowerQuest PQ-303, PQ-505 and PQ-707 are brand new power conditioners intended for multi-channel or non-multichannel home theater hi-fi at home as well as custom installations.

With the new series of AudioQuest PowerQuest power conditioners, you can go any way you want. Such a power conditioner, by the way, is an advanced filter that tries to keep out all mains voltage noise. Running from the PowerQuest 303 through the 505 to the 707, we see increasing features. The PQ-303 is the “basic” model. In it you will find a linear noise suppression system, which uses differential mode filtering. And that over a bandwidth ranging from 30 kHz to 1 GHz. The PQ-505 goes a step further again, here Common Mode filtering is added (30 kHz – 100 MHz). This filter should deal with symmetrical noise, as usually picked up at AC phase, neutral and ground wiring.

PQ-707 with buffer reservoir

Top-of-the-line AudioQuest PowerQuest PQ-707 (shown at the top of this post) features Transient Power Correction (TPC) in addition to all the filters from the PQ-303 and PQ-505. In doing so, the 707 provides a buffer reservoir that can supply a peak current of 45 A if a connected device needs it (briefly) at a certain moment. Listening-wise, this should lead to thrilling dynamic contrast, better low frequencies and control, according to the manufacturer.

Added to that, it is good to know that all models have surge protection on board. A surge protector that automatically shuts off when the voltage limit is exceeded is built in too.

The AudioQuest PowerQuest PQ-303 costs $459.95; the PQ-505 changes hands for $699.95 and for top model PQ-707 you will have to pay $1299.95.
