The Eversolo Play CD Edition is a true all-in-one device, combining a power amplifier, CD player, streamer and room correction system in a single compact chassis. Simply connect speakers and start listening.
Admittedly, the Eversolo Play CD Edition was already released a few months ago—technically last summer, in fact—and somewhat disappeared beneath the flood of other audio launches. Still, it remains a particularly interesting product, which is reason enough to put it back in the spotlight. Especially since the player recently received a prestigious Red Dot Design Award.
In terms of appearance, the unit somewhat resembles an enlarged Mac mini, for those familiar with Apple’s compact computers. Inside, however, it is a complete all-in-one audio solution. The device includes a media player supporting all major streaming services such as Qobuz, Tidal, Amazon Music and Deezer. It is also Roon Ready and JPLAY Certified.
Operation is possible either via the built-in display and physical controls or through a smartphone app. Playback from a NAS is naturally supported as well.
With or without CD player
As the name already suggests, the Eversolo Play CD Edition also features an integrated CD player—ideal given the increasingly visible CD revival. If you are not interested in CDs, there is also a slightly cheaper version available without the built-in transport.
Multiroom support is included, as is room correction for adapting playback to the listening environment. The integrated Class D amplifier delivers up to 60 watts into 8 ohms and a maximum of 110 watts into 4 ohms. That leaves only one thing to add yourself: a pair of speakers.
The version with the CD player is priced at €799, while the CD-less model costs €100 less.
