The acquisition of VerVent Audio and its underlying brands Naim Audio and Focal by Belgian company Barco has officially been completed.
From now on, Naim and Focal fall under the Barco umbrella. The Belgian company specializes in medical technology, high-end projection systems, visualization and immersive experience solutions. According to Barco, the goal of the now finalized acquisition is to create a European leader in AV solutions for both professional environments and home users.
The new owner states that the intention is to develop highly competitive products capable of setting new standards in the most demanding applications.
As always with acquisitions of this kind, it remains to be seen what the long-term impact will be for end users and for the current and future product ranges of Naim and Focal. At the very least, it is good to see that the companies remain in European hands.
