Live Stream – Power Conditioners – March 24, 2024 – 10:30 a.m

It’s that time of the month again! The Alpha Live Stream! This time we are going to compare some nice power conditioners. In various price ranges and various types. And this time we’re not going to do it at the Alpha Studio, but at Yung’s studio in Leiden!

A decent supply of energy is the basis of any good system. Without clean, stable energy, no system can perform optimally. That’s why we write about it quite a lowt at Alpha Audio.

Next Sunday we have a couple of interesting power conditioners on the program. From Isotek as well as Audioquest and Puritan. Whether we’ll be lugging our Yeti along, we’re not sure yet given the weight….

In any case, it promises to be a nice and special stream!

Check out the Live Stream!

  1. All, I enjoyed enormous your Live Stream – Power Conditioners on March 24, 2024, Clean Power is essential and without the magic will never happen.
Also the fact that you use that beautifull Tannoy based vintage system as test platform is great and shows that great systems back in time have a lot of matured experience, skills and tuning time incorporated.
Less old but I’m still using a Spectral DMA50 power amp and it still compares to today’s high-end especially when using high sensitive, low power consuming loudspeakers like e.g. Zu, Klipsch or Tannoy..

Back on the power-supplies. I use a Torus Tot, battery power and, Monarchy re-generator to tackle ac polution used in various configurations but I would say digital improves the most.
Question: does the Torus Tot also get saturated by DC during time and would also benefit from a Isotek Synchro DC blocker?
Question 2 to Yung. What exact version was the Hartman-Coltrane CD, there are many I discovered and they don’t all sound great. Which label, year and release nr?
