Spotify is going to raise the prices of its music streaming service, while still nothing (more) is said about that illustrious lossless streaming.
Spotify is raising prices for paying premium subscribers. The increase depends on the user’s country. For example, all subscription types in the U.S. are going up by $1. The increases seem apparently necessary; this year the music streamer saw its profits drop significantly. Whether and when the now mythical HiFi tier (the lossless branch once announced and then never launched) will ever appear is still unclear. The company has not said a word about it since its non-start.
By the way, Spotify is not the only music streamer to raise its prices; recently Tidal, among others, did the same.
