WiiM has released a more affordable version of its smart speaker: the Sound Lite. Simpler, yes — but certainly still useful!
If you don’t need a built-in display or remote control like on the original Sound smart speaker, the WiiM Sound Lite might be just the right fit. In practice, the Lite version is essentially the same as its more expensive sibling, just without the screen and included remote. According to the manufacturer, the Lite retains all the capabilities of the standard Sound model, including hi-res audio streaming.
Like its big brother, the Sound Lite is built on an open platform. And while this model doesn’t include the separate Voice Remote 2 (though it is compatible), you can still operate everything easily through the WiiM Home app — which is arguably just as convenient, since your smartphone is usually within reach anyway.
The WiiM Sound Lite is priced at €269, a neat €80 less than the full-featured Sound model.
